2) Do you only cater for Low-income and Student families? No, we cater for ALL families and our prices are very competitive with other childcares thus providing childcare services which Low-income and Students families can afford too.

3) How may children do you care for? We are licensed for a total of 34 children.

4) What is the fees?   Fees are calculated according to the child's age, the type of enrollment status etc. Please refer to the Tuition category for a description of our rates.

5) What is the illness policy? We are at no time a sick-child care facility. Children with symptoms of fever, diarrhea, unexplained rashes, vomiting will not be accepted into care and can only return after 24 hours of being symptom free. More information on this can be found in the parent handbook

6) Is the childcare insured?    Yes, we carry liability insurance.

7) Do you have any pets?   Yes we have a fish tank.

8) What will my child do each day?  See our infants, younger preschoolers, older preschoolers  and schoolers schedules.

9) Do you offer pickup/drop to schools? No,  we don't, but some school buses drop children to our location.

10) Can I drop in for a visit?   You are always welcome to stop by, we only ask that you observe the daily activities, as to not disturb nap time.

11) What is the procedure for handling emergencies?  The project director or teacher on board will stay with the children should the need arise. If there is an emergency the parent or guardian will be notified immediately.

12) Is there half day sessions three times or five times/week? Yes we do, we have 7:00am-12:00pm or  1:00pm -5:30pm either (Mon - Fri ) program or (Mon, Wed and Fri) program

13) Do you have staff that are CPR and First Aid certified? Yes all our staff members are CPR and First Aid certified

14) How do we know what my child did on a certain day? The parents can read the daily reports provided to them by the teachers which show how your child(ren) did that day regarding food, sleeping times, projects etc.

15) Do you have earlier care before 8:00am and late care after 5:00pm? Yes we do,  we have as early as 7:00am and as late as 5:30pm.

16) Do you have a drop-in-care service? Yes we do, we only ask that we have certain papers filled out before we can accept drop-in-care services for your child(ren).

17) Are you a religious childcare since you are located next to a Church?  No we are not a religious childcare, we are located next to a church for two main reasons. Availability of safe and  proper childcare spaces within Blacksburg and secondly, we are located between Christiansburg and Blacksburg and this is extremely appropriate for those parents who are concerned with transport from Christiansburg.

18) Do you have a curriculum? Yes we follow the Funshine Express Curriculum.

19) How do you cope with children whose English is not their mother-tongue? Our teachers assist child(ren) by  repeating basic words which they need to know while they are in their care and showing them what the word indicates in real situations. Also child(ren) are encouraged to participate in all the activities and especially during daily circle time, children pick up more words and very quickly start to use them.

20) Are all teachers English speakers? Yes, all teachers are American English speakers.
